This has been a good week! Marcus' parents arrived from New Mexico on Friday the 11th. Jude took advantage of Marc's mother's nursing skills and let her keep on eye on Marc through the night, and Jude slept so hard she had sleep marks on her arms! That felt good!
Marc's siblings, Jim from Kansas, John from Texas, and sister Lori all arrived on Monday night. On Tuesday Gordon from Oskaloosa joined them all to clean the garage and shop. Marc decided to join them outside and "supervise" the cleaning and even persuade them to chop down a bush that Judy said only needed to be trimmed.
Justin and Denice were able to be home this past weekend as well.
Marc's siblings departed for home this morning, and his parents will remain for a while longer.
We are so thankful for good days to visit and reminisce as a family. For now Marc's visitors are being limited to just family, but your prayers are still coveted and your comments are most welcome on this blog.

Sharon Bomgaars in the book In His Feathers (Jim Schaap) which was her diary says, "In the light of these many past prayers, you can probably see that I can no longer entreat and beg for life. My children are almost grown, and this has been an issue for so long between the Lord and me that all I can do now is wait....it’s as if all these years I have been on the phone to heaven. Now, after [pancreatic] cancer, the Lord and I are in the same room, and we’re just sitting quietly. Sometimes I look at him and that’s all I need to do. He knows."
This is the comforting intimacy I pray for you, Marc. -Connie H.
Praise God for the blessings of a family visit! I just know those special memories will remain dear to all of you!
Praying that in the days ahead you will be assured in many ways that "you are not your own, but belong in life and death to your faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ".
Hi Marc,
Sorry to hear the degree of devastation this cancer has taken .
Our family is praying for you and your loved ones .
I was really hoping for a visit or two , ,, guess this blog will just have to do !
It has been a privilege to get to know you . For the times we spent both challenging each other and encouraging each other . Those lunch breaks of snarffing down a sandwich (you always won )and trying to be spiritual all in twenty-five minutes !! I will miss those times .
As I read your Grandfather's commentary on Revelation , I will think of you . One of my favorite passages comes from chapter 5 vrese 11 . John gives a discrption of an awesome event . The creatures , the Elders and the angels , numbering in the thousands upon thousands bow before the throne and give praise and glory to God . What a anthem that must be !!
You be sure you sing loud and beautiful for me ! If I get a new voice in heaven ,, I will sing with you !

Dear Marc and Judy,
We are deeply saddened to hear of Marc's diagnosis! We lift your family up in prayer. We ask God's grace to provide you comfort through laughter and tears, peace when embracing family and strength during this difficult journey.
Love,
Lois, Tom and Dylan Scott
Marc,
I don't really know what to say. I hardly know you, but you are an inspiration to me. You are daily in my thoughts and prayers, as is your family. I'm finishing up your Measurement Technology class you were teaching. They were all very shocked and saddened to hear the news about you. I guess none of us is promised tomorrow.
You have the privilege of being able to say goodbye (temporarily) to all you love and cherish. We'll all meet again soon enough!
May God bless and keep you all.
-Bruce Boertje
